Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to obtain an approximation model of the digital elevation data and real images using triangular networks, fractal modeling or a combination of both, in order to reduce both the size of the stored data and the approximation error. The modeling software is implemented in Visual C++ using both CPU and GPU processors as for parallel processing of data.
